Charlie Rayner

Production Manager

Charlie Rayner is a seasoned Production Manager and Production Electrician whose work has made a significant impact across the UK theatre industry. Forgoing formal drama school training, he has built an impressive career through hands-on experience, technical expertise, and a steadfast dedication to his craft.

 

Charlie began collaborating with Niche Productions in 2023, initially supporting the derig of the Backyard Cinema site in Manchester. His responsibilities have since grown, and he is currently serving as Production Manager for The Traitors: Live Experience, an immersive theatrical event in London’s West End.  Charlie will be production managing Backyard Cinema and Peppa Pig: Surprise Party before the end of 2025.

 

His diverse portfolio spans both theatre and live events. As LX3 for Kan Yama Kan in Saudi Arabia, Charlie contributed to the groundbreaking production that premiered in Riyadh in January 2022. On tour as a Production Electrician, Charlie worked on acclaimed productions including The Crown JewelsPeaky Blinders: The Redemption of Thomas ShelbyCome From AwayDrop the Dead Donkey, and Little Simz’s UK tour.

 

Demonstrating his leadership, Charlie was Associate Production Manager for Your Lie in April at the Harold Pinter Theatre (2024). Over the following 18 months, he managed an array of productions: The Happiest Man on Earth and Canned Goods (Southwark Playhouse); Madwomen of the West and The Empire Strips Back (Riverside Studios); That Bastard Puccini (Park Theatre); The Passenger (Finborough Theatre); and Carnival of Invention (South Norwood). Looking ahead, he is set to manage FANNY and Wyld Woman before the end of 2025, showcasing his versatility across genres and scales of production.

 

Charlie’s career is defined by his ability to deliver high-quality productions, his adaptability across technical and managerial roles, and his passion for bringing stories to life on stage and screen.
