Corey Bennett

Founder & Director

Corey Bennett is the Founder and Director of Niche Productions Group, a company specialising in production and general management for immersive, theatrical, and experiential projects. His journey into live events began at the age of 11 in Leicestershire, mixing sound and running lights for school productions. This early hands-on exposure sparked a lifelong passion for technical theatre, which was further fuelled by a college lighting course and eventually led Corey to train at LAMDA on the Stage Management and Technical Theatre degree.

During his training, Corey spent summers working at major Live Nation festivals across the UK and Ireland, supervising large teams across car parking, traffic management, fire marshalling, litter picking and more. These formative years provided him with invaluable experience managing people, thinking on his feet, and staying calm under pressure – whatever the weather.

After graduating, Corey’s focus turned to production and technical management in theatre. His first taste of immersive performance came with Production Managing Music in Motion at Conway Hall and St Martin-in-the-Fields, where orchestras performed amongst the audience in a fully choreographed space. This unique blend of music and movement opened his eyes to a new kind of storytelling — one that would soon become his professional focus.

Soon after, Corey became Lead Show Control and Network Technician on SOMNAI by Layered Reality — one of the UK’s first large-scale immersive experiences blending live performance, VR, and narrative. It was a career-defining moment that set his sights on immersive theatre as his long-term path.

Following SOMNAI, Corey joined The Wider Earth at the Natural History Museum, a site-specific theatre production staged within the Jerwood Gallery. Helping to build a performance space from scratch inside one of London’s most iconic institutions deepened his love for complex, non-traditional venues and technically demanding shows.

Over the next few years, Corey quickly climbed the ranks of commercial touring theatre, serving as Head of Lighting on productions including SIX The Musical (UK Tour), The Comedy About a Bank Robbery (UK Tour), EVITA (International Tour), Magic Mike Live, Magic Goes Wrong (UK Tour), Kan Yama Kan (Saudi Arabia), and The Addams Family (UK Tour).

In 2019, Corey co-founded Creative Production Services, through which he delivered production management on a wide variety of projects. Highlights include Intra Muros at Park Theatre, Rent, Hushabye Mountain and Hope Fest for Hope Mill Theatre in Manchester, Backyard Cinema site builds in Wandsworth and Manchester, a season with National Youth Musical Theatre, and multiple series of The Theatre Channel for Adam Blanshay Productions during the pandemic.

In 2023, Corey founded Niche Productions to specialise in immersive and experiential work — a natural progression shaped by years of passion, experience, and creative ambition. In its first year, the company delivered major productions including Viola’s Room by Punchdrunk, The Traitors Live Experience with Immersive Everywhere, Rhythm & Ruse at The Vaults, and HUMBUG: The Immersive Christmas Dive Bar by Speakeasy Project. The first year also saw the securing of several additional high-profile projects, which — for now — remain strictly under wraps.

Now evolving into Niche Productions Group, Corey is expanding the company to include a dedicated team and a new General Management offering tailored specifically to immersive theatre, pop-up events, and competitive socialising experiences — providing the structure and support this fast-growing sector demands.
