About the PROJECT

Tokyo Nights is a large-scale immersive dining and live performance experience, combining the spectacle of live sumo wrestling with high-end food, drink and theatrical storytelling.

Set within a transformed venue in Greenwich, the experience places a full-scale sumo ring at its centre, with audiences seated around it across a range of ticket types. Across the evening, guests experience a fast-paced, high-energy show featuring live bouts performed by former professional sumo wrestlers, alongside a premium hospitality offering including Japanese-inspired food, sake and cocktails.

Blending elements of sport, theatre and hospitality, Tokyo Nights is designed as a fully immersive night out, where the audience is part of the atmosphere as much as the show itself. The scale, pace and audience volume make this a complex, high-throughput live event requiring strong operational delivery across every performance.

Job Overview

The Venue Manager will lead all front of house and venue operations for Tokyo Nights, taking responsibility for the safe, efficient and high-quality delivery of the audience experience across every performance. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the role will oversee audience flow, manage a large FOH team and ensure all public-facing elements of the venue are operating to a consistently high standard.

Working within a fast-paced, high-capacity environment of approximately 610 guests per performance, the Venue Manager will act as the senior operational lead on site. This includes coordinating with third party food and beverage suppliers, handling audience issues in real time, maintaining strong communication across departments and ensuring the venue is show-ready at all times.

In addition to the live run, the role will support pre-production activity in the lead-up to opening, contributing to rota planning, staffing structures and operational set-up. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring strong judgement, clear communication and the ability to deliver under pressure across a multi-show, high-volume event.
