Ryan Watson

Ryan is an accomplished Production Manager and Technical Director whose work has shaped performances across the UK theatre and touring scene. Beginning his career as a Touring Electrician, he has built a versatile and extensive skill set through hands-on experience, technical expertise, and a collaborative approach to production.

Ryan’s early career saw him move from stage electrics into Technical Stage Management and Production Carpentry, establishing a strong practical foundation that informs his leadership and problem-solving on every project. Over the past 11 years, he has worked as a freelance Production Manager and held key roles including Production Manager for Bill Kenwright Ltd, and Technical Manager at LW Theatres. 

As Head of Production at English Touring Opera, Ryan oversees all aspects of production, supporting creative and technical teams to deliver high-quality shows and events across a wide range of venues. His portfolio demonstrates a breadth of experience, from small-scale touring productions to complex national tours, combining technical expertise with strategic production management.

Known for fostering clear communication, strong team culture, and well-organised production processes, Ryan is dedicated to ensuring that creative ideas flourish while productions are delivered safely and smoothly from concept to performance.
